DESTRUCTIVE FIRE.

£6690 INSURANCES, Baxcltjxha, Tuesday. An extensive fire occurred last night bj which several buildings and their contents were destroyed, amongst them being the Newmarket Hotel. The Telegraph Office had a narrow escape. The following are the insurances ai far at yet known: —Newmarket Hotel, South British £800, New Zealand, £M5O, National £500, Standard £500. Newmarket Hall, National £600, South Britiih £600, piano and furniture in the National for £150; on stables and barn, New Zealand £100. Blue Store buildings, in the Standard £490, and stock in the National for £1500. A small portion of the goods in the store was saved.
