RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT BRIGHTWATER.

[Before L. Broad, Esq., R.M., J. W. Barnicoat, H. Martin, jun., and H. Talbot, Esqs., J.J.P.] THIS DAY. Lammas v. Gibbons. Mr Bunny for plaintiff, Mr Pitt for the defendant. Tbis action was brought to eject the defendant' from part of section 23, 88 Valley. The case, which was partly heard last Court day, was concluded to-day, when the Bench dismissed the case with £1 ls costs. Mrs. Dion v, Davis. Claim £9 17s. Mr Acton Adams appeared for plaintiff. The defendant appeared and admitted the debt. Judgment was given for plaintiff for the amouut claimed, with costs £2 6s. A. J. Palmer v. W. Howe. Claim for lOlbs tobacco at 4s 9d— £2 7s 6d. Mr Pitt for plaintiff, and Mr Bunny for defendant. After the plaintiff had given his evidence Mr Bunny stated that he had been instructed by the defendant to attend and cross-examine the plaintiff, the defence being that the defendant never ordered the goods and never received them. The amount was so small that it was not worth his while to come from the Matakitaki to defend. After hearing counsel the Bench gave judgment for the plaintiff with £1 10s costs. Bushellv. Gemhetzky. This action was brought to recover £16 ls. Mr Acton Adams for plaintiff and Mr Pitt for defendant. After hearing evidence, judgment was given for plaintiff for amount claimed, with costs £3 Os 3d.
