Melbourne, Wednesday. In the billiard matches between the champion Roberts and Shorter the English player who recently arrived from home, in the first game Roberts gave 250 in 1000 and won by 246. In the second he gave 100 in 500 and Shorter won by 93. Of three games of pyramids Shorter receiving tine ball in each, the latter won t\w>. to-night Roberts gave 175 in 750 and lost by 314, Sailed Eingarooma for Bluff. Stdney, Wednesday. The Assembly has finally ratified the modified Pacific mail contract.
