Halliday drove Salmon for 2, and Knapp cut Armitage for a like number, and then for 1, when he was bowled pff his chest. Fowler followed, and after playing very steadily for ones, drdvip Salmon to off for three. Halliday was then given out leg beforeNvfcket from Salmon. This was consiflefed very unsatisfactory. 3*5 p.m. After lunch Silcock took Barnett's place against the bowling of Lockett and J. A. Salmon. Silcock was caught by Mace, b Salmon, for 1. C. Wigzell took the last place, and made the hit of the day, sending the ball over the ditch for 4, and then followed with two threes. Fowler made a straight, hit for 3, and both were playing well together when the bowlers were chauged, J. J. Salmon taking the place of his brother. Wigzell was then run out> after scoring 16. Fowler, not out, 28. Total, all out for 83.
