The Charles Edwatd will sail for the West Coast at 9 a.m. to-morrow. The Lyttelton left Blenheim for Wellington with a full cargo this morning. The barque Lochnagar arrived at London from Napier one day this week. The Murray arrived at Westport this morning, and sailed for Greymoutb by the same tide. The Kentish Tar was to leave London for Nelson and Napier on the 7th March. We understand that the Grafton has been ■withdrawn from the West Coast trade, and "will be laid up for six months. The Taranaki made a fair passage across to Wellington, having arrived there at noon yesterday. The Awaroa sailed for Wanganui yesterday afternoon, and by dusk bad secured a good offing. The Aihambra arrived at the Bluff yesterday. She will reach here about Thursday next. The Richard and Mary finished discharging cargo yesterday, and this morning sailed for Waitapu, where she will load timber for Lyttelton. The Wellington arrived at Wellington at six o'clock this morning. She leaves there on the return trip on Monday afternoon, will arrive here on Tuesday morning, and sail for Picton and Wellington at 5 p.m. . same day. Steam was got up on board the yacht Tainui this afternoon, with a view of testing the engines, when they were found to work admirably. The trial trip will take place on Good Friday. The Wallace has been on the gridiron all the -week undergoing a thorough scraping outside. She will probably be laid up about four weeks, as the iron for the shaft has to come from Dunedin. The Union Company's s.s. Taiaroa, Capt. Kennedy, arrived in harbor at daylight this morning. • She left Port Chalmers at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, and arrived at Lyttelton at 10.45 a.m. on Thursday; sailed at 6 p.m. same day, and arrived at Wellington at 1 p.m. yesterday; left at 7 p.m. and arrived here as above. Experienced a strong N.W. gale' on the passage from Lyttelton to Wellington, thence fine weather across the Straits. The Taiaroa sails for Taranaki and Manukau at 4.30 p.m. On February 2, Messrs Blackwood and Gordon, Greenock; launched a twin-screw steamer. The dimensions are : —Length, 259 ft; breadth of beam, 29ft; depth of hold, 20ft. 6in. The vessel was named the Katoomba, and will be fitted by the builders with engines of about 200-horse power. She is built for the Australasian Steam Navigation Company of New South Wales, and will be employed in that Company's trade. '■ The Kennedy returned to port this morning at 11 o'clock. She reports leaving Nelson on Saturday, the 6th, for Westport via Motueka, arriving there at 8 a.m. on Sunday, letf for Hokitika on Monday at midnight, arriving there at noon; sailed for Greymouth on Tuesday morning, and arrived there same time; sailed for Westport on Friday morning at daylight, arriving there at 3 p.m same day; left two hours later for Nelson, arriving here as above. Experienced fine weather throughout. The Kennedy sails for Wellington on an excursion trip at 6 p m tomorrow.
