The Murray sailed for Wellington last, evening. The Lady Barlcly made a trip to Motueka and back to-day. She leaves on her weekly trip to Golden Bay this evening at ten o'clock. The Maori, on her periodical trip round the Middle Island, was to leave Port Chalmers for the Bluff yesterday. t The Awaroa arrived from Wangamri last night, having left that port on Saturday last. Light variable winds were experienced throughout the passage. The Awaroa hrings a miscellaneous cargo. The Union Company's s.s. Wellington, Captain M'Gee, arrived in harbor this morning at II o'clock. She left Wellington at 2 p.m. yesterday, and arrived at Picton at 7 p.m.; sailed at midnight and arrived here as above. The Wellington returned to Picton and Wellington shortly before 1 p.m. A capital opportunity of paying a visit to the Empire City and at the same time having an opportunity of seeing the great circus and menagerie will be arforded on Friday next, when the Wellington will leave on au excursion trip at 3 p.m. The reason of her leaving here one day before the usual time is on account of the grand midday performance to be given at Wellington on Saturday, which will be the first and only one given in New Zealand. Excursionists will have the option of returning either on Monday or Wednesday. The double attraction will no doubt have the effect of inducing a large number to avail themselves of this opportunity. The p.s. Charles Edward arrived alongside the wharf at 1 1.30 am. to-day. She left Nelson on the 3 st ultimo at 10 a.m., with strong S.W. wind and thick fog, passed the s.s Graf ton off Cape Earewell, bound for Hokitika, arriving at Westport at 7.30 a.m. on the Ist inst.; left again at 9 p.m. same day for Hokitika, arriving there at 9.30 a.m. on the 2nd; \va9 detained there on account of a rough bar and hfavy fresh in river until the 6th, when she left at 10 a.m. for Greymouth with fine weather, arriving there at 12.30 p.m. same day; sailed at 2 p.m. on the 7th, with light variable winds and smooth sea. arriving at Westport at 11 p.m.; left again at 11.30 am. on the Bth, with fine weather and smooth sea to Cape Earewell, theuce strong S.E. winds until arrival as above. The Charles Edward sails for Wellington at 8 o'clock to-morrow evening.
