IVrOTICE is hereby given that at a X^l Special Meeting of the Council of the City of Nelson, held on the 28th day of February, 1878, the following resolution was adopted : — That the following WATER RATES, in respect of the ordinary supply be made and levit d for the period commencing oq the ltt day of April, 1878, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1879, payable in two equal instalments on the Ist day of April, 1878, and the Ist day of October, 1878 :— 1. Upon all lam's and buildingß to which water is supplied, whose rateable value on the Valuation Roll Does not exceed £12 10s, a rate of 10s. per annum. Exceeds £12 10s., but does not exceed £200, a rate of 6 per cent, on such value. Exceeds £200 but does not exceed £500, a rate of 5 per cent on such value. Exceeds £300, a rate of 4 per cent, on such value. 2. Upon all landß and buildings to which water can be. but ia not supplied, situate within 100 yards from any part ol the waterworks — j Onelialf ot the rates abovementioned except as follows : — Upon all such last-mentioned lands as have no buildings standing thereon, a rate of 2 per cent, on the rateable value. 3. Upon nil buildings used as sforei or warehouses of fur any purposes other than as dwelling houses, a late of two and a hall jer cent on the rateable value.
