NOTICE is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Couucil of the City of Nelson, held on the 28th day of February, 1878, the following resolution was adopted : — That the following WATER RATES, in respect of the ordinary supply be m«de and levii d for the period commencing on the Ist day of: April, IS7P, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1P79, payable in two equal instalments on the Ist day of April, 1878, and the Ist day of October, 1878 : — 1. Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied, whose lateable value on the Valuation Roll Does not exceed £12 10s,arateof 10s. per annum. Exceeds £12 lOs., but does not exceed £200, a rate of 6 per cent on such value. Exceeds £200 but doeß not exceed £300, a rate of 5 per cent on such value. Exceeds £300, a rate of 4 per cent, on such value 2. Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be, but is not supplied, situate within 100 yards from any part of the waterworks— One-half of the yates abovementioned except as follows .- — Upon all such last-mentioned lands as haTe no buildingß standing thereon, a rate of 2 psr cent, on the rateable value. 8. Upon all buildinga used aa storei or warehouses or for any purpotG:) other than as dwelling houses, a rate of two and a halt per cent on the rateable value.
