' TVT OTIOE is hereby given that at a -Ll Special Meeting of the Counoil of the City of Nelson, held on the 28th day of February, 1878, the following resolution was adopted :— That the following WATER RATES, in respect of . the ordinary supply be made and levied for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1878, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1879, payable in two equal i_staln_entß on the Ist day of April, 1878, end the let day of- October, 1878 :— 1. Upon all lands and buildings to which water iB supplied, whose rateable value on the Valuation Roll Doeß not exceed £12 10s , a rate of 10s. per annum. Exceeds £12 lOs., but does not exceed £200, a rate of 6 per cent, on sach value. Exceeds £200 but does not exceed £300, a rate of 5 per cent on such value. Exceeds £300, a rate of _ per cent, on such value. 2. Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be, but is not supplied, - situate within 100 yards from any part of the waterworks— One-half of the rates abovementioned except as follows : — Upon all such last-mentioned lands as have no buildings standing thereon ; a rate of 2 per cent, on the rateable value. S. Upon all buildings used as stores or warehouses' or for any purposes other than as dwelling houses, a rate of two and a half per cent on the rateable value.
