To-aionitow at noon is the date fixed as the latest hour for receiving tenders for the Para Para property and plant. The quarterly fair will be held at Richmond tomonow, when Mr Mabin will be in attendance to dispose of stock, etc., by auc tion. He will also hold a sale of sheep in the assigned estate of Mr Alexander Knyvett on the ground. W. Patterson and Co. also advertise that they will be present to dispose of stock, &c. Tim sale of work at the Provincial Hall last night was fairly attended, and a good number of the excellent articles with which the stalls were laden were disposed of at sa isfuctory prices. There are still some capital bargains offered, aud to-night there will be the double attraction of a Christmas tree and a gift auction. PjtOFiissoß Heunicke and Madame Stella gave another first class entertainment to a large audience at the Masonic Hall last night, the programme being the same as that of Saturday evening. The performance from beginning to end was thoroughly appreciated and enjoyed by all who witnessed it, considerable astonishment being created by the clever manner iv which many of the tricks were executed. They will appear again tonight, when we can recommend those who wish to enjoy a couple of hours of real fun to attend. The Motueka Highway Board held a special meeting on Saturday evening, the 2nd instant. All the members were present except Messrs Burrell, Coppius, and Deucker. Fourteen applications were received for the appointment of assistant overseer. The Board struck out ' all the names of the applicants but five, and afterwards all but two, out of whom Mr Richard Fry, of Riwaka, was appointed. The following tenders were accepted : — Makiug road along O'Brien's Te mice— No. 1 (removiug all rock), B. Harford, £35; No. 2, Henry Jennings, £34. At the Waimea Assessment Court, held at Brightwater yesterday, a great many objections were withdrawn, the Board having arranged with the objectors. InMrKnyvett's case, it was agreed to reduce the assessment as requested. Mr W. M. Stanton had lodged objections to three valuations, but, when called, did not appear. The valuers for the Board, and Mr Rout, who had. been specially employed,|were iv attendance, and the Judge, after ascertaining that Mr Stanton had given no uotice of withdrawal of his objections, sustained the valuation of the Board, with £2 2s costs against the objector. Tun knight of the rueful countenance was probably a victim of the depression, irritability and causeless apprehension, which are symptomatic of confirmed dyspepsia. There are many such knights whose days are undoubtedly shortened by the misery of body and mind produced by that harassing disease. Chronic indigestion, as well as nervou3 debility, urinary troubles, aud rheumatic affections are easily remedied by Udolviio Woi.fk's Soiiikuam Aiiomatic SciiNArrs — Advt.
