A Grammatical Dog. — The following anecdote is related as to ihe wonderful intelligence and susceptibility for fducatioii evinced by the dog. One, about a large Newfoundland called Pinnock, after the fcrummurian of that name, w.:S particularly amusiug aud 13 said to ba autheutic. Piunock is the property of a professor ia an academy, and a part of his training had received attention that is usually neglected. Being told " fetch that suck," ihe dog lay sullenly still, but when the command was made, " Bring that stick," ho obeyed with alacrity. "Go after that basket" was as ineffectual as the first command, but at " Go for that ba ? k->t," he coolly walked to where tha basket was. and lay down.
