William Gill ami liichard Buckridge, who arc; supposed to have .an organised system or! stealing horses in the interior, were brought before the Resident Magistrate this morning, but remanded for a week to enable a certain important witness over a hundred miles away to come and give evidence. On Saturday while a mob of horses were being shipped for South, several of them were landed and taken possession by the police, who subsequently arrested the prisoners at Greytown. VYairarapa. nominated for Tiraaru for the seat rendered vacant by the resignation of Mr Stafford. His chance generally is considered good. Blenheim, Saturday night. _ A cable message was received this morning, announcing the floating of the Turner Gold Mining Company in London. The ground lies between Queen Charlotte Sound and Port Gore. The Telegraph camp on the new line between Blenheim and Tophouse was burnt down near Birch Hill.
