DUNEDIN RACES.

Dunedin, Friday night. It has been a dull, bleak day for the races. About 3000 people were on tbe ground. Hurdle Race of 80 soys, two 'miles and a distance— Eclipse 1, Sir Tattou 2, Kildare .**, Warrick and Little Dan -t aud 5. Tiie race was a good one, the first three horses coming iv close together. Theodore also started, and had the third position in the second round past the staud, when he tripped over a hurdle, throwing his rider, who was carried oif the course, but was not much hurt. Banjo, Shillelagh, JMay Pay, and Camclia were scratched. Betting "J to 2on the field. Time, 4 mius 39 ."; sees. Dunediu Jockey Uiub Handicap of 300 soys, 1 a miles— Templeton I, Mr Redwood's Longlanrtß 2, Mr Redwood's Ariel 3, Hippocampus, Unknown, and Chancellor, 4, 5, and C. It was a very easy victory for Templeton, but a splendid race between the others. There was great cheering for Templeton. Betting, 2 to 1 against Ariel, 5 to 4 against

Templeton, against the rest 3, 4, and 5 to I. Time, 3 mins 17 sees. Saturday, 2-20 p.m. I he races during the early pari of the day were poorly attended, only about 1000 being present The day is damp and raining. Steeplechase of 100 sovs, 3 miles— Eclipse 1, Sir Tattou 2. Camelia 3, Warwick 4, the rest nowhere. Banjo, Theodore. Kildare, and Starlight also ran. Shillelagh was scratched. Eclipse and Sir Tattoo ciime in almost together, the third and fourth horses being a dozen lengths behind. Time, 6mins 4GJsecs.
