CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor ov the 'Evening Mail.' Sir,— Could you satisfy a number of subscribers, as to the reason why the renowned time-gun does not give its usual calling on Saturdays. Are the Government trying to be economical ? or is it because Wellington entering upon tbat " little luxury," Nelson deems it beneath her notice to keep time also. I am, &c., Particular. [Ihe reason, as far as we can learn, is that there is no gunpowder in the place, and the passenger steamers are not allowed to carry it. This at all events, is the excuse offered.— Eu. N.E.M.\\
