MAGISTRATES' COURT, BRIGHTWATER.
[Before Messrs Talbot and Lightband, Esqs., J.J.P.] Monday, February 4. William White was charged by Mrs Eden with using abusive language to her. Mr Pitt appeared for the complainant. Defendant was fined 10s, and costs £2. [Before L. Broad, Esq., R.M., and Messrs Talbot, Lightband, and Martin, J. J. P. J. Palmer v. Thompson.— -Plaintiff claimed £1 Is for damages sustained through the defendant removing a fence. Mr Bunny appeared for the defendant, for whom judgment was given with costs £1 Is. Langford and Son v. Burbush.— Action to recover £14 16s 4d for goods supplied. Mr Pitt appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Bunny for the defendant, who paid £11 Os Id into Court, but disputed the balance. The Bench, after hearing the evidence, gave judgment for the plaintiff for £3 18s 9d beyond the amount paid into Court, with costs £1 17s. J. Palmer v. Newth. — Action to recover 18s for trespass. Plaintiff was nonsuited. Brooks v. Moore. — Action to recover £15 for work done. Judgment for plaintiff for £4 10s, and costs £1 10s. Trower v. Stagg.— Claim for £4 6s 8d for goods supplied. Mr Acton Adams appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Pitt for the defendant. A certain amount was paid into Court, for wf ! ch judgment was given with CO3tS £1 ls. A number of small debt cases were then disposed of, after which the Court adjourned.
