MR. SHARP'S MEETING.

To the Editor of the 'Evening Mail.' Sir,— lt is said that Mr Sharp is not such a good speaker as Mr Curtis,— may we hope then that he will not so easily consume the time and exhaust the patience of his audience in telling them nothing, or quibbling over party squabbles? I beg to suggest that Mr Sharp enlighten us a little as to his Juture action, viz., Is he prepared to alter the present unjust taxation on the necessaries of life, by which so large a portion of the revenue is raised? Will he support a property tax? Doeshe approve of the enormous amount (£500,000) said to be required for immigration this year? (£IOO.OOO is supposed to be the , annual sura devoted to that purpose). What are his notions as to a Land Bill? Does he approve of manhood suffrage? Above all does he not think that some alteration is required in the mode of passing a "vote of want of confidence." Should not a two-thirds vote be required? If some such action is not taken Government, by representative Parliament, will soon come to an end. It is fast degenerating into a mere contest for place, a fight between the ins and outs, consuming the entire session, leading to an ever increasing mass of corruption and bribery, which the outside world has no conception of. By inserting these queries in your paper to-day you will prevent the patience of the audience being tried, and give Mr Sharp more time to think over hia answers, and oblige Yours truly, Traveller.
