The Murray reports a heavy northerly gale at Westport. She will leave this evening if i possible, arrive here to-morrow, and sail for Wanganui on Wednesday.

Owing to the weather the departure of the Kennedy for Wellington, and the Charles Edivard for the Coast, has been postponed, the former until to-morrow evening, aud the latter on Wednesday morning.

The Luna is expected to arrive from the West Coast to-morrow morning, and is announced to sail for Wellington at 7 p.m.

Forthe future the Wellington will call at Picton every trip both going to aud coming from Wellington.

A new propeller was shipped on the Grafton on Saturday afternoon, and she sailed for the West Coast last evening.

The schoouer Awaroa arrived from Wanganui this morniug. She brings four passengers.

The Goldseeker arrived from Havelock thia morning, having been detained at the Erench Pass some days by the late strong S.W. winds.

The cutter Midge arrived from Waitapu last evening. She reports that the schooner Nelson was loaded with timber when she left, and was to sail for Wellington on the first chance of a fair wind to take her out of Waitapu harbor.

The tide rose to a great height this morning, being well backed up by a strong N.W. •wind. There was a nasty sea running in the harbor, but the only damage done worth speakiGg about was to the embankment opposite the Fire Brigade Hall, at the Port, which was washed away so much as to prevent the bus running. The Wallabi, which put in here on Saturday, was then five days out from Wanganui, having been compelled to take shelter in Port Hardy against the strong N.W. winds. She came here for the purpose of obtaining a supply of fodder, which she ran short of. The Wallabi sailed for Westporfc at 6 o'clock yesterday morning.

The Union Company's s.s. Wellington came into harbor yesterday morning at nine o'clock. She is from Wellington, which port she left at 8 p.m. on Saturday. On getting into the Straits she experienced a strong N.N.W". wind with heavy sea, and it was not until the lapse of five hours that she was abreasfc of. The Brothers. When near the Pass met with any quantity of rain and thick weather. The Wellington sails for Wellington with excursionists for the regatta this evening at 8 o'clock. As the glass is rising there is every probability of its being a fine-day for the regatta to-morrow. She will return on Wednesday evening, and leave here again at noon on Tb.urs.day, for Picton and Wellington.

The fine steamer Ringarooma, Captain Clarke, arrived in harbor at 8 p.m. on Saturday. She left Melbourne on the afternoon of the 9th, and arrived at Milford Sound on the evening of the 13th; called at the Bluff, Port Chalmers, and Lyll el ton, and reached Wellington on Friday morning; left there at 8.30 am. on Saturday, and reached the IVench Pass at 2 p.m. Being too early for the tide the steamer came to an anchor, aud a fishing party was formed. They appear to have met with good luck, and as the result of their labors several fine rock cod were to be seen hanging up in one of the boats when the steamer came alongside the wharf here.
