The Luna left Wellington late last evening. She will arrive here this afternoon, and sail for Westport and Greymouth afc 5 p.m. The Midge hammered against the strong N.W. wind as long as practicable, but with- , out making any headway, and fche master seeing no chance of reaching Astrolabe rau into Motueka yesterday morning. The Wellington was detained at Wellington until late last night, when she sailed for Pieton. She left the latter port afc 7 o'clock this morning, and arrived here this afternoon. The Wellington sails for Pieton and Wellington afc 7 p.m. The Union Company's s.s. Taranaki, Captain Malcolm, came into harbor this morning afc 5 o'clock. She left Onehunga at 5.30 p.m. on Tuesday, and reached New Plymouth at 7.30 a.m. yesterday; landed mails and passengers, bufc in consequence of a heavy sea running no cargo could be put into the surf boat, and the Taranaki proceeded on to Nelsou at 9 a.m., arriving off the Lighthouse at midnight, and entering the harbor as above. Experienced strong N.W winds with heavy sea while crossing the Straits yesterday. The Taranaki sails for Wellington and South at 6 p.m. .V.-
