When I was five, her age was 0, Save some winged moments newly caught But time, while stealing life away ' Is adding to it every day I ' . . And when she numbered 15 years And I was 20, hopes and fears The scroll of future life unrolled, And Love was lord of all— but gold! When 20 summers crowned her head, I And 25 of mine had fled, She gave me hers—l gave her mine— : And then our sum was 5 times 9. And, as the years run on, our lives ; In cash and cares, still count in s's! \ Each £5 note, how fast it goes! i How quick come twJce 5 little toes.
