[PRKSS AOENCY.] , Wellington, Thursday. The Customs duties collected at the Port of Wellington during the last four years were -for 1874, £124,706 ; 1875, £153,825 ; 1876, £162,346 ; 1877, £177,386. Friday. Mr Thomas reports produce prices as follows :— Adelaide flour, £17 10s; colonial, £14 15s to £15; oats, 4s; bran, Is; wheat, 4s Id; hams, 9£d; bacon, B£d;. cheese, 7d ; potatoes, old, 30s per ton; new, 6s 6d per cwt; pollard, £7; maize, 4s ld; butter, salt sd, fresh 6d. The Wellington sails for Pieton, Nelson, and North at 6 p.m. Passengers: Messrs George, Roberts, Mabin, Climie, Richardson, Gough, Miases Dwyer, Hooper, Greenwood, Boom, Shannon (3), Frost, Mesdames Wilson, Diamond, Brother, and Edwin. Masterton, Thursday. Mr Beetham, addressing his constituents, reviewed the events of the session, and explained why he supported the Atkinson party. A vote of thanks aud confidence was unanimously passed. Greymouth, Thursday. The Customs receipts for 1877 were £41,116 lis, being an increase of £1869 13s on the previous year. The gold exported during 1877 was 80,230 ounces, value £320,920, showing an increase on the previous year of 11,310 ounces, value £45,000. Mr Woolcock addressed his constituents, and received a vote of confidence. The attendance was small. Hokitika, Thursday. The Union Bank shipped 3167 ozs. of gold by the steamer Alhambra. The first prize in Evans and Hanson's Sweep on the Champion Stakes was won by a miner named Gidden, Kumara ; second prize, by Learmonth and Co., Hokitika 5 third prize, by Marks and Glover, Hokitika. CHRisTciiOßeH, Thursday. The Christchurch City Council have decided to offer premiums of £500 and £50 for the two best schemes for a water supply for Christchurch. The weather continues favorable for the crops. Donedin, Thursday. Thirteen cases are set down for the Supreme Court on Monday, forgery and larceny being the principal crimes. Eight thousand persons attended the Caledonian sports yesterday, and five thousand travelled by rail. In the Cameron Sweep on the Melbourne Champion Race, the winners are all Dunedin men. Mr Driver reports :— Wheat, little animation ; milling, 4s 6d to 5s for good samples. Oats, brisk demand, and supplies coming slowly. Barley, none offering. Grauamstown, Tbnrsday. The Premier and the Native Minister visited the Thames yesterday, and transacted business with the Borough, County, aud Harbor authorities. They left in the Hinemoa last night for Tauranga, intending to call at Coromandel. Mr Sheehan is suffering from a broken rib, which prevented him from carrying out his intention of proceeding to Tauranga via Ohinemuri. Oamaru, Friday. Business in the grain and breadstuffs continues dull; wheat, 4s to 4s 6d; oats, 3s to 3s 6d; barley, none; flour, £14 to £14 10s, f.0.b.; oatmeal, £17; pearl barley, £20; pollard, £5 10s; bran, £3 10s. During the past few days we have had a welcome fall of rain, which has greatly improved the crops, and farmers now confidently anticipate somewhat better than an average yield in all cereals. Bluff, Thursday. Arrived— Tararua. She left Melbourne on the 24th ult., Hobarton on the 28th, and had fine weather along the coast. She brings 33 saloon and 30 steerage passengers, and 209 tons of cargo for all ports. She sailed for Dunedin at 4 p.m. Passengers for Nelson — Mrs Darke, child, and servant, Mr Fox and child, Messrs Edwards, Hammond, Fadqueen, Blackwood (2), Baxton, Perkins, and 3 steerage.
