The Lady Barkly sailed on her usual trip to Golden Bay last evening. The schooner Josephine was placed on the gridiron this morning for the purpose of having a few sheets of copper replaced. The Wellington leaves Wellington this afternoon, will arrive here to-morrow morning, and sail for Taranaki and Manukau at 7 p.m. The Albion arrived off Hokitika at midday yesterday, will arrive here to-morrow, and is advertised to sail for Wellington, South, and Melbourne the same day. The Tararua arrived at the Bluff yesterday, morning, and left in the afternoon for Port Chalmers. She will be due here on Tuesday, and will leave for Melbourne via Westport, Greymouth, and Hokitika by the same tide. The Taranaki sailed for Pieton, Wellington, .and South at six o'clock last evening, and with a good breeze behind her made good progress along the Boulder Bank. She arrived at Wellington at seven o'clock this moraing. and leaves there again for Lyttelton this afternoon. The brigantine Roderick Dhu, from Kaipara, is now due at Motueka with a load of timber intended to be used in the construction of the bridge about to be erected across the Motueka river. The Luna arrived in harbor this morniug from West Coast ports. She left Greymouth on Wednesday, and Westport yesterday morning atll o'clock, arriving here at seven o'clock this morning. The Luna sails for Wellington direct this evening. The steam collier Grafton rather unexpectedly put in an appearance this morniug. She left Wellington at 1 p.m. on Wednesday for the West Coast, and when off Cape Fareweir met with a strong S.W. wind which carried away the foretopmast. As the steamer could not make any headway against the -wind, Captain Anderson bore up for ISelson, arriving here at 9 o'clock this morning. The Grafton will proceed on her voyage to-morrow. The schooner Onward, bound from Lyttelton to Kaipara, put into Astrolabe afc the latter end of last week, having heen unable to do anything against a N.W. wind which was 'then blowing, the vessel being flying light. She took her departure from Astrolabe on Saturday last for Totaranui, where the captain expected to pick up one or two other vessels, but as nothiug has been seen of the Onward since it is probable that she lias proceeded on to her destination. The p.s. Charles Edward arrived from West Coast ports at 5 o'clock this morning bringing the West Coast portion of the San Francisco mail. She left Nelson on the 24th ult., at 4.30 p.m., experienced strong S.W. wind aud heavy sea until arrival at Westport at 2.30 p.m. on the 29th ult; left again at 7.45 p.m. same day for Hokitika, with fine weather and smooth sea, arriving at 5 a.m. on the 30th ult.; left again at 5 p.m. on the 31st for Greymouth, arriving at 7.30 p.m. same tide; left again at 8 p.m. on the 2nd inst., with fine weather, for Westport, arriving at 4.30 a.m. on the 3rd; left again at 10.15 a.m. same tide, experienced heavy N.W. wind to the White Cliffs, from thence strong S.W. wind and heavy sea to Bliud Bay, and then smooth water until arrival here as above.. The Charles Edward sails for Wellington at 5 p.m.
