Mr Berry, at the Beechworth banquet last night, fulminated against the. action of the Couucil in rejectiug the Appropriation Bill, He said the tonsequences would be the stoppage of the railways and mail services, aud the non-payment of the public creditors. Hejreferred to the perils of such a course as the rejection of the Bill and called it the act only of madmen.
There are capital entries for the New Year's day meeting.
Sydnet, Saturday. Mr Farnells is forming a Ministry. Hennessy's case aud cask brandy unchanged; rice, £22 to £23; Adelaide flour, £15; Adelaide wheat, 6s; no New Zealand wheat or oats iv market; sugar and tobacco unchanged; sperms, 9£. to 9J; Adelaide quotations, wheat ss; flour, £14.
