ELECTION OF COUNCILLOR. To the Ratepayers op the Cur op Nelson. Gentlemen— The writer of a letter in Saturday's Colonist signing himself "A Citizen," describes me as a steady man, and one who attends to his business (to this I do not object), but he goes on to insinuate that he thinks I shall have no time to fulfil the duties of a Councillor. To this I wish to give my emphatic contradiction. If I were nofc prepared to carry out those duties I should not have allowed myself to be nominated. I ask the electors not to be influenced by such an insinuation but to come boldly forward and record their votes, always remembering the voting is by the ballot and I am willing to abide the result. I am, gentlemen, Your obedient servant, Henry HouNSELri LOST this morning in Nile st. East, a Small Grey Woollen SHAWL, lhe nnder rewarded on returning to E. B. Jo3eph.
