Captain Edwin reports.-— " Indications of further fall of glas3, and strong winds from any direction between north and west and south-west.
H.M.S. Sappho has sailed for Samoa. The Ringarooma sailed . for Nelson at 11 a.m. Passengers Capt. Kirk, Mr Tamati, Capfc. Bell, Mr George, and Miss Dawson. The.Cbarlea Edward, from Westport, was signalled when we went to press. The Wellington left New Plymouth this morning, will arrive to-night, and sail for Picton, Wellington, and South to-morrow morning, at half past nine. The Kennedy arrived at Hokitika this morning* and will sail for Nelson via intermediate ports to-morrow.
The Ringarooraa left Wellington this morning, will arrive to-night, and sail for Melbourne via Wellington and South to-mor-tovr morning.
The schooner Awaroa sailed for Wanganui yesterday afternoon with a large cargo. The land breeze last night ought to have secured for her a good offing. Captain Quance, well known in Nelson, is now in charge of the brigantine Sarah Pile, which is now in Wellington undergoing repairs.
TheEasby arrived at Port Chalmers on November 19, from Sydney, where she had been undergoing repairs for the last two months, her stern post having by some means or other got broken near the keel, necessitating her having a new one.
The Union Company's s.s. Hawea, Captain Wheeler, came into harbor this morning at 7.45. ' She is from the East Coast ports via Wellington and Picton. She left the Empire City yesterday at 1.30 p.m., and arrived at Picton at 6.15 p.m.; sailed at 11 30 p.m., came- through the Pass at 4 o'clock this morning, and arrived here as above. Fine weather was experienced across the Straits. Mr Newman, late of the Wakatipu, is now purser of the Hawea. She sails for Taranaki and Manukau at 9 p.m.
