Lifting his hand angrily to heaven the young man swore that to avenge this insult he would take the liyes of 500 people Ihe manager had him arrested and brought before the magistrate. « What meant you by this threat, sirrah?" «I mean t thisand when I mean a thing I mean it— that having been rejected by the stage, I should study medicine."
