_, - Wellington, JFriday. The House met at 2-30 this afternoon. \ Leave o* absence for ten days was granted to Mr Reader Wood, Dr Wallis and Mr Carrington. In reply to Mr Kelly Sir G. Gray said that the Government agreed with the recommendations of the Petitions Committee on the petition of the Chairman of the Titanic Steel and Iron Company. The following new Bills were introduced: Harbor Works Compensation -, Bill (Mr Larnach), Westland and Neison Coal-fields Administration Bill (Mr Macandrew), Cemeteries Management Bill (Mr Sheehan'*, Lyttelton and Heathcote Recreation Ground Bill (Mr Fisher). * Mr Sutton moved for leave to introduce a Bill to ampad the Napier Swamp Nuisance, Act, 1875. ...■*■! i .'• . , . The Speaker ruledthat ajprivate Act could nOfc be amended ( by a pablic Bill. Mr Sheehan said if is were competed for the, Government to do so they woald be glad to introduce this measure as & public one* as the matter was very important.? •'■ ' .Mr Sutton Urged the importance of the Bill, *which was* to extend the period of operation of the former Act. Sheehan moved that this House disagrees with the Legislative Council's amend- - ments in the JEducation Reserves Bill, and. a conference was asked for. ! ' ' The Shipping and Seamans Bill was further considered in Committee. ■ ■ , Mr Sheehan moved the adjournment of the .House at 530, until Monday;, The Public Works and Financial Statements had to beprepared, and it was absolutely necessary that;, Ministers should have some time to consult together. The House had been sitting so continuously that really the Cabinet had not had time to meet. Themotion was agreed to. - -■ - In the legislative Council the Imprest bupply Bill passed through all its stages. The JEducation Bill was further considered, and passed through all ita stages. The aiding clause, which was added yesterday, was to-day stuck out, the Speaker considering it an appropriation clause.
