Nov. 13, steamer Charlea Edward, 126, Whitwell, from West Coast. Passengers : Mesdames Novin and infant, Jones aud 2 children, Richardson and daughter, Revs. Russel, Bull, Harper, Messrs Gillmau, Moses, aud Yule Bros. (2). — steamer Murray, 78, Conway, from Wellington. SAILED. Nov. 12, steamer Wallace, 64, Dillon, for Wanganui. Passengers : Mesdames Harrington, Gabb and 2 children, Miss Harrington, Messrs Jole, Nuttman, and 3 in steerage. . — schooner Australian Maid, 17, Gilbertson, for Awaroa. 13, steamer Lady Barkly, 30, Walker, for Golden Bay. — ketch Falcon, Shilling, for Blenheim. The Thames commenced discharging cargo this morning. The Arawata will be due at the Bluff from Melbourne to-morrow. The Ringarooma leaves Melbourne tomorrow.
The steamer Lady Barkly sailed for Golden Bay this morning.
The Australian Maid sailed for Awaroa yesterday for a load of firewood.
The Murray arrived from Wellington this afternoon.
The Awaroa completed loading this afternoon for Wanganui. She is a full vessel.
The ketch .Falcon sailed for Blenheim this morning. Captain Shilling, late of the Dido is in command of her.
A telegram received in town to-day states that the Queen of the South, from the Mauritius to Lyttelton, with a cargo of sugar for Messrs Sclanders and Co., has been totally -wrecked.
The Arawata arrived at the Bluff late last night, having left Melbourne on the Bth inst. Passengers for Nelson, Messrs Lynch (2), and five in the steerage. She sails for Dunedin this afternoon.
The Taranaki arrived at Wellington early this morniug, and was to leave on the return trip in the course of the day. She may be looked for here about midday to-morrow, and is advertised to sail for Northern Ports at 3 p.m.
The steamer Wellington, which has been laid up some time on accouut of her heavy consumption of coal, is once more to be put into commission. She ia expected here on Saturday, on. which day she will sail for Northern ports with the San Erancisco mail. Coasting vessels lately seem to have a •strong penchant for the Boulder Bank. The latest case is that of the Lily o£ the Wave, which while sailiug out of the harbor last evening took the ground near the beacon. AH attempts to get her off were of no avail, and she remained there until this afternoon, when she floated off.
The p.s. Charles Edward arrived in harbor this morning at 9.30. She left Nelson on the Ist instant at 2.30 p.m., experienced strong S.W. winds until arrival at Westport at 5 p.m. ou the 2nd; on account of a heavy fresh in the Westport river, aud dirty weather at sea, •was detained there until the ?th, when she sailed at 11.15 p.m., arriving at Hokitika at 10 a.m. on the Bth; left again at 10.30 on the 9th with variable winds, andarrived at Greymouth at 1.30 pra. same tide; left at 2 p.m. on the llth with fine weather, arriving at Westport at 1 1 p.m. same day; sailed at *12 noon on the 12th with fine weather and light S.W. breezes, which continued until arrival here as above.
