Oct. 31, cutter Planet, 15, Westrupp, for Motueka. IMPORTS. Buchholz; 145 sacks coals, Mabin. . The Planet was the only vessel that sailed to-day. The Dauntless arrived from the Croixelles yesterday afternoon with a load of firewood. The Lady Barkly sails on her usual trip to Golden Bay this evening at 7.30. The Lyttelton will sail for Blenheim and Wellington to-morrow at 7 p.m. The Wallace arrived from Wanganui this afternoon, and will sail for Picton and Wellington at noon to-morrow. The Kennedy and Murray are still detained at Greymoath, where there is a flood in the river. They expect to get out to-morrow. Owing to the strong if. wind last evening several vessels that intended to sail were precluded from taking their departure. The departure of the Charles Edward is again postponed on account of the weather. She will sail for West Coast ports at 2 p.m. to-morrow. The City of Sydney with the San Francisco mail will be due at Auckland on Saturday. The Nelson portion of the mail will be brought down by the Wanaka. The sea breeze this morning culminated in a S.W. wind, which was blowing as strong as ever this afternoon. It is just possible that the VVaipara has not yet got round the Spit, and we should not be surprised if Captain Biguell has to put back to Nelson for supplies. Very smart progress has been made with the landing of the Lochuagar's cargo, considering that it is very much mixed, the utmost care, as usual, having been taken by the stevedores at home to put that portion of the cargo which has to come out last on top. For this reason the work of discharging has been considerably retarded, several hours having to be spent in clearing away the Napier cargo. It is expected that the vessel will be clSar of the Nelson portion at the latter end of this or the beginning of next week. The Lochnagar will then probably be placed on the hard for the purpose of being cleaned, her bottom, as is the case with all iron vessels which make a long run, being in a foul condition. As Captain Kelly has not yet received any offer for the vessel, she will probably load at Napier for the old country.
