[FROM A CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Wednesday. Mr Cnrtis asked the Minister of Justice last night whether the Government intended to direct a criminal prosecution against Butler and Tatton with reference to the late Lunatic Asylum enquiry. Mr Sheehan replied that from what he bad gathered from the report of the Royal Commission and the evidence, he had felt quite warranted in sending the papers to the Law Officers with a view to instituting such a prosecution.
