ARRIVAL OF THE LOCHNAGAR.

The barque Lochnagar, Captain Kelly, arrived from London at 3 o'clock this morning after a passage of 108 days— rather above the average, which is accounted for by the bad trade winds experienced, the wind never blowing tn the same direction for thirty hours at a stretch. The voyage was an uneventful one, nothing of any importance having occurred to relieve the monotony which a voyage to New Zealand entails. The Lochnagar brings a full cargo, but no passengers. She is still commanded by Captain Kelly, whom we welcome to our shores once more: he has with him as chief officer Mr Busch, who ailed a like position on board on the vessel's vis-t here last year. From the log book we learn that the Lochnagar left the East India docks on July 15th, and Gravesend on the following day; the Downs were passed early on the morniug of the 7th, and Dungeness at tfS M f h « wlth light NW - wiads 5 Pa 3B^ ±SiU ot Portland on the Bth, aud took her hual departure from land on the 9th. Experienced light and variable winds to the Equator, which was crossed on August llth in long. 23 deg. 34 mins. W., thence had 3 days strong S.E. winds, after which light winds were met with until passing the Cape of Good Hope on the 17th; a spell of dirty thick weather with winds from N.E. to S E then set in, and lasted until the vessel passed tape Leuwin on October 4th, when light variable winds were experienced; Cape Farewell was rounded yesterday at noon, the wind at the time blowing hard from the N.W accompanied with rain; towards evening the wind chopped round to the S.E., and continued until arrival here as above. Some vessels were spoken on the passage, but none bound to New Zealand. The Lochnagar was towed into harbor by the Murray this morning and berthed alongside the Government Wharf. She will commence discharging immediately.
