In consequence of a public meeting in connection with the Indian Faniiue Relief Fund having been called by the Mayor for to-morrow evening, Mr Charles Bright kindly offered to postpone his lecture until the following night. The meeting will therefore be held m the Provincial Hall at 7 o'clock. A meeting of the Committee of the Horticultural Society is to be held this evening for the purpose of arranging the prize list; for the Show to be held on the 2uth and 2 1st of next month. We understand that a motion of no-confi-dence in the presenfc Government is to be brought forward this week by Mr Stafford, who has consented to accept the position of Premier. Mr Stafford, whatever his faults may be. has always had the character of beiug a thoroughly good administrator, and this is what the country badly wants at the present time. The Rose Brothers gave another most successful entertainment on Saturday night and this evening will appear for the last time in Nelson, on which occasion they will exhibit greater mysteries than ever, as will be seen by referring to the advertisement. The Wesleyan Church will give one of their popular musical entertainments at the Agricultural Hall, Richmond, afc seven o clock to-morrow evening. The Chapel of the Holy Evangelists at Bishopdale was consecrated on Saturday afternoon by the Bishop of Nelson in the presence of a large congregation, several of the clergy who are now "in Nelson attending theSynol taking part in' the service, the musical portion of which was conducted by the combined choirs pf Christ Church and AH Saints. The chapel, "which it* a very neat aud well finished building, calcijlated to seat 160 persons, was built by Mr John Scott. The altar, which is a beautiful piece of workmanship, and comprises several varieties of New Zealand woods, was made by Mr Fleming from a design by the Bishop. At the close of the service a collection waa made amounting to £12. Mb. Charles Bright arrived in Nelson yesterday evening, and announces the first of his popular lectures for Wednesday next The subject, Free v. Fettered Thought,' is" one that is likely to interest many, so that a large attendance may be expected. Mr. Richard Thatcher, agent and business manager for Levy, the celebrated cornet player, passed through Nelson to-day by the Hawea, and arranged the preliminaries for a series of concerts to be given here early next year. The company supporting Levy "is un - precedentedly good, and comprises, we are informed, the most brilliant musicalorganization ever effected in Australia. Amongst the members are three great; Italian artistes and a famous soprano and contralto. '
