Sappho is expected to arrive here from Wellington oa Monday next. The Lyttelton leaves Wellington to-day for Nelson via Blenheim. The Lady Barkly arrived from Golden Bay lost evening. The Claud Hamilton sailed for Melbourne ftnd West Coast ports last evening. The ketch Thames sailed from Wellington for Nelson to-day. The Bingarooma will be due at the Bluff from Melbourne to-morrow evening. The Sea Spray finished discharging cargo this afternoon, and will commenca ballasting on Monday. The Hawea will arrive from Ficton tomorrow, and sail for tha North on Monday availing. The Wallace will leave Wellington for Nelson on Monday, arrive on Tuesday, and nail for Wanganui the same day. The Taranaki will arrive from the North to-morrow night, and sail for Pictou and South on Monday morning. Tha Murray's intended overhaul has been postponed for a time, and she will sail for Wait Coast port3 to-morrow morning at 9 O'clock. The Kennedy left Grey mouth this morning for Nelson via Westport. She will arrive here to-morrow evening, and sail for West Coast ports on Tuesday. The Charles Edward which left here on Wadnesday morning was compelled by the weather to lie under shelter of the Sandspit \«"til Thursday night, when she sailed for Westport, arriving there last evening after a *ery rough passage. She will sail for Hokitika to-morrow. The Waipara returned from the scene of the wreck of the Queen Bee last evening. She brings a fair amount of cargo, iron forming a large item. Moderate weather was experienced up to Wednesday last, since "Which time it has been indifferent, The Waipara's engagement with the Wreck Recovery Company being now at an end she Will return to Hokitika, but before doing so will be placed on the slip for the purpose of Being cleaned and painted, the rough work ■he has done for the past two months having by no means improved her condition. Messrs M'Meckan, Blackwood & Co.'s fine steamship Arawata, Captain Underwood, left Melbourne at 12.30 p.m. on the 11th Oct., "with the Suez mail, 24 saloon and 32 steerage passengers, and 530 tons cargo; cleared Port JPhiUip Heads at 3.5 p.m., and passed Swan Island at 12.50 p.m. next day, experienced strong south-east winds with high head sea until clearing Banks' Straits, then light northerly winds with fine weather until the morning of the 15th instant, when a strong northerly gala with a high sea was encountered, which prevailed until passing the Solanders at 3.20 p.m.; met with very thick weather when nearing the Heads, off which she came to an anchor at 8.30 p.m., and entered the harbcr at 6 a.m. on the 16th; discharged 170 tons of cargo, shipped passengers and cargo, and sailed at 6 p.m. aame day, arriving at Port Chalmers at 5.30 a.m. on the 17th; discharged 210 tons of cargo, and sailed at 4.30 p.m., arriving at Lyttelton at 8.30 a.m. on the 18th; sailed again at 5.30 p.m., experienced a strong northerly gale until passing Cape Campbell, thence a S.W. gale across the Straits, arriving at Wellington at 9.1Q a.m. on the 19th; sailed again at 6.30 p.m., arriving hara at 7.30 a.m. today. She brings 50 ton3 of cargo for this port. While in Melbourne the Arawata had yards placed across the foramast. Although they have not improved her appearance the benefit of them will be found with a fair wind. The Arawata sails for South and Melboarns, carrying the outward Suez mail, this evening at 6 o'clock.
