[I'RKSS AGKNGV.] Wellington, Saturday. It is announced by prominent Oppositionists that a direct no confidence motion will be tabled on Monday, and that a majority is assured. The Opposition members dine together to-night.;; Monday. The last of the Eoman Catholic mission services of Father Heuneberry was held last night at St. Mary's church. About 1000 people were present, the aisles and even the sanctuary being crowded. After the sermon every Catholic in church held aloft a lighted wax taper, and repeated after the priest the baptismal promises made at the font. The rev gentleman will hold mission services throughout Wellington district, after which, it is understood, he will visit the other principal towns ,in New Zealand. During his stay he has administered the .temperance pledge to over 1500 people, and yesterday about 2000 marched in procession from one Catholic Church to the other, headed by Bishop Redwood and the lion William Fox on one side, and the Catholic priests on the other. Such a revival has not been seen in Wellington before. For the last fortnight St. Mary's Church has been crowded three times daily from 5 -30 a.m. till ten at night. There has been another Buicide at the Hutt. Fanny Mason, a girl twonty-one years of age, was found dead in bed this morning with three empty chlorodyne bottles beside her. Tisiasu, Saturday. Moss Jonas disposed of a parcel of 225 shares to-day. Union Insurance, by auction, realised 12s 6d to 14s premium. The bidding was spirited throughout. Chrisxchorch, Monday. The cricket season opened on Saturday, and the first meeting was a decided success. Dr Campbell advertises that he has withdrawn from the hospital staff. An official enquiry is to be undertaken at his request. The effects of long continued dry weather are beginniug to be injuriously felt in the agricultural districts.
[from our own correspondent.] Wellington, Monday. A notice of a direct no confidence motion will be given this afternoon, the Opposition having again fallen back on Mr. Laruach as the mover. The Opposition are very hopeful of winning. The defection of Mr. Walter W. Johnston from the Ministerial ranks was publicly announced.
