The Wallace left Wanganui last night, but is no doubt delayed by the heavy southwester that is blowing. She will arrive to-night and sail for West Coast ports tomorrow at one o'clock. The Lyttelton was signalled this morning, but as she has not yet arrived she has probably taken shelter from the south-wester behind Pepin's Island. She will sail for Blenheim on Friday. The Charles Edward left Greymoutb. today for Nelson via Westport. The Kennedy arrived at C reymouth to-day and will sail for Nelson direct. The Murray left Westport for Nelson this morning. She will sail for Wellington tomorrow. The cutters Maid of Italy and Planet, bringing cargoes of produce, arrived from Kiwaka and Motueka respectively this morning. , The Lady Barkly started on her usual trip to Motueka and Golden Bay last evening. The Tanpo left Port Chalmers for Northern ports yesterday afternoon. The Tararua arrived at Greymouth this morning from Nelson. The cutter Dauntless arrived from Torrent Bay this morning, bringing a cargo of stove. The schooner Nelson has again made a capital run, which conclusively proves the great sailing powers oc the vessel. She leffc.Lyttelton on Sunday night at ten o'clock and arrived in the Pelorus Sound on Monday night at niue, the passage having only occupied 23 hours. The fore-and-aft schooner which ran up the bay yesterday afternoon proved to be the Herald. She is from Oatnaru, which port she left on Thursday last. Light southerly winds were experienced as far as Bank's Peninsula, theu the wind chopped round to the N.E., which lasted until the ressel reached Eaikoura Peninsula, when it veered to S.E., blowing hard, and bringing down with it a heavy sea. This weather was experienced right across the Straits, and it was not until Stephen's Island was reached that the wind died. away. From thence light favorable winds were met with, and the Herald arrived here as above. She sailed into harbor this morning, acd was berthed alongside the Commercial Wharf. The Herald brings a cargo of breadstuffs. Messrs M'Meckan, Blackwood & Co's s.s. Claud Hamilton, Captain J. W. Clarke, came into harbor this morning at 10.30. She left Sandridge Railway Pier at 2.45 p.m. on the 6th, cleared the Heads at 5.3*/ p.m.. and passed the Sisters at noon on the following day. Experienced moderate weather with strong N.W. and S.W. winds on the passage across, arriving off Hokitika at 7.30 p.m. on 10th; left at 8.15 on the nth, and arrived at Greymouth at 10 a.m.; left at 12.30 p.m., and arrived off the Lighthouse at 9.30 a.m. to-day. The Claud Hamilton passed the Tararua off Rocks Point late last eveuiug. The reason that the Claud has taken the place of the Alhambra is because the latter steamer had not her crew shipped on the day appointed for sailing, and the former having ju3t arrived from Sydney, was despatched in her place. The Claud Hamilton will sail for Melbourne and Southern ports to-morrovr morning at 10 o'clock.
