The quarterly meeting of the Teachers' Association was held on Saturday afternoon, when the following resolutions were passed. The injustice complained of in the second resolution is so self-evident that it is a matter of surprise that it should have been left to^ the teachers to call attention to it: — 1. That it is the opiuion of this meeting that our representatives, Messrs Sharp and Curtis, should endeavor to have inserted in the Education Bill now before the House a clause to the following effect " That the services of teachers he rei.ognised by provision being made for their after years, according to their length of service." -2. That the system by which head teacher's salary is reduced as soon as he has increased his numbers so as to require oue or more assistants is manifestly unjust, and should be abolished.
