A second .Danube bridge has been completed, and large reinforcements of Russians are closing, Rustchuk is being bombarded. lighting is going on at different points without any very important results. Mehemet Ali and Sulieman Pasha are pushing on to effect a junction : and the Kussiaus, who have been reinforced, are advancing their centre and left wing An important battle is expected. Frightful massacres have been committed by the lurks, without distinction of age or sex. Towns and villages have been burnt in every direction. The Russians are suffering from fever and dysentery. Turks healthy. rp . _ Bombay, Saturday. lhe Imperial Russian Guard has been called into active service as well as the men capable of bearing arms hitherto exempt. General Gourka has gone to St. Petersburg to bring the Guard to the seat of war. Wollesley has returned to Bulgaria. There has been indecisive fighting at Batoum.
