A meeting of the Catholics here was held last night for the purpose of considering the new Education Bill, Bishop Moran presiding There were probably 80J people interested! -feouc resolutions in condemnation of the Bill were submitted and carried almost unanimously there beiug two or three dissentients to the first resolution. The meeting was very enthusiastic. The resolutions are to be fonvarded to the Dunedin members and the members of the Government. Two hundred and fifty thousand shares in the Union Insurance Company have been applied for in Dunedin. „,. Wellington, Friday.
