SAILED. August 14, steamer Wallace, 64, Dillon, for Wellington— Passengers : Messrs Peel and Sunbeam. — cutter. Maid of Italy, 17, Clarke, for Riwaka. — steamer Lady Barkly, 30, Walker, for Motueka and Golden Bay. — schooner Sisters, 15, Charles, for Motupipi. — schooner Uno, 28, Kirk, for Sandspit. — ketch Standard, 10, Williams, for Sandspifc.
The Albion, which arrived at Hokitika yesterday, has been compelled to pass on to Nelson untendered either at Hokitika or Greymouth. She will arrive to-morrow, and tranship her passengers and cargo into the Tararua. The Wallace "arrived afc Wellington this morning, will sail to-night, arrive to-morrow, and sail for West Coast porfc3 ou Friday. The bars on the West Coast; are quite unworkable, and fche Murray is still detained at Greymouth, and the Kennedy at Westport. The Wanaka sailed from Wellington this morning, will arrive to-night, and sail for the North to-morrowi '" ' ~ The Taupo sailed from Port Chalmers for Northern Ports yesterday. The Lady Barkly sailed for Motueka and Golden Bay last evening. The cutter Maid of Italy took her departure Eor Riwaka last evening. The schooner Sisters sailed for Motupipi last eveniug. The barquentine Estelle left; Wellington for Nelson yesterday, but was not signalled up to the time of our going to press. She will probably show up to-morrow. The schooner Uno and ketch Standard sailed for the Sandspifc lasfc nighfc, where they will endeavor to pick up as much cargo as possible of fche Qusen Bee. Messrs M'Meckan, Blackwood, and Co.'s s.s. Tararua, Captain Sinclair, arrived off the ,'L ighthpuse at 7. o'clock tbis morning, and - beiug ,J tp6'. early for the tide came to an ancntih,,' She leffc Melbourne on the Ist; inst., and,,' arrived" at Hobarfcon.on the 3rd; sailed on the '4th, and reached the Bluff on Thursday; sailed on the 12th, and arrived at Port Chalmers, on. the lith; leffc same day. and reached^Lyttelton on the 1 2th; sailed on the 13th, :j fi_d.,;. rrjv. d in Welliugton at 9 a.m. yesterday; left a ..6 p.m., and arrived here as above.; ;Experienced fine weather to Hobart Town, when the. wind blew half a gale from W.N.W., then veered to S.W., and increased to *a? whole gale with very heavy sea. The Tararua /ran under sail aud steam until the foresail 'ble'w away, and then on the 7th she was^brought to the wind and lay-to for four hours,-; while a ; succession of furious squalls pasled over her. She was then kept away, , ancLcarried the gale behind her until reaching fche Bluff. Fine weather, was met; with on tbie New Zealand coast. The Tararua came into harbor afc 1 1 o'clock, and sails for Melbourne and West Coast to-morrow at 11 a.m.
