MAGISTRATES COURT.
[Before the Hon. N. Edwards, H C P^iELh, and J. Symons, Esq., J.J.P.] Bensemann v. Best. In this caae ihe plaintiff sued the defendant for £6 damages occasioned by fche defendant penning back tbe water of a stream, and so obstructing it thafc ifc could not flow away from plaintiff's land which in consequence was flooded, and for a time rendered useless. Mr Bunny appeared for fche plaintift and Mr Fell for the defendant. Mr Hading acted ap interpreter, the plaintiff beiug unable to speak English. Judgment for defendant with costs. Parmenter p. Powell. Action to recover £17 12s 6d, amount of promissory note due.
