A letter was read from the Secretary of the Waimea Road Board, id-viiiog the Motueka Board to send "a deputeti&n fib confer with" that Bbar<_ witb reference l to a Circular lately received |rp__t-i_B Colonial Secretary, requesting suggestions towards the framing of a Colonial Road Act; also- stating tha^ the. neighboringvßoards had been asked to send deputations, and that the Chairman and Secretary of the Waimea Coariiy^Cott&biPh'ad alad been InViied A telegram having been received from the Secretary of the Waimea Board, to the effect that $he meeting of the proposed conference had been adjourned until the 28th ioetant, it i resolved — That a deputation, sisting of the Chairman and Secretary, i be appointed to attend the conference arßichmond. J v< "\ Secretary stated that be had been unable to prepare an estimate of the cost of makiog a new road along the base of the hills at Pangatotara and Ngatimoti, in consequence of not having received replies from several of the owners of land through which tbe i road would be required to. pass as to the amount they required for compensation/ "Reßolv_d«~Fhat the consideration of Mr Blackett'a report be further postponed nntil the next meeting of^th'e , Befard.
