Saturday, nigh.. j'-y Peter Levy : On Saturday evening;!, saw prisoner, among fche boxes at Wyjnpn'd'a When he^sajv me he doubled backi, biit I wenfc. after him and caught him, and inside hi3 coat I felt a bundle which I took' out and found to be a pair of trousers and a vest. -I asked where he got them, aud what his name was. He would not answer. I fc^en arrested him. From information I received I-weafc to the Steamboat Tavern, where I was shown a* bag belonging to the prisoner, containing fche table covers produced. ' ' ' Charles MyLeah, landlord of fche Steamboafc Tavern, stated that prisoner left; fche bag produced with him on Thursday, nigh... He returned about nine o'clockoh Friday night, I ddh'fc know whether he went' fco fche bag, bufc he could do so without my knowledge. ; Prisoner, on being asked whether he had Anything to say, replied fchafc he brought the table coyers from Melbourne with him. _>• The Bench considering the case fully proved sentenced' fche prisoner, to three months' imprisonment. Tfie other case was then, proceeded wii;h. Constable Levy gave similar evidence to that in the former case.
