With to-morrow's issue of the Evening Mail will be published the annual report of the luspector of Schools. The case agaiust Isaac Harvey to-day for perjury resulted in his committal for trial at the next sitting of the District Court, to be held on the 16th instant. William Harvey and C. K. The tea meetiug aud concert in connection with the Wesleyan Church held at Motueka on Aloiiday evening proved an unqualified success, both as regards the numbers present and the performances by the Nelson choir under the leadership of Mr Garrard, and others who rendered valuable assistance. . The Rev. S. R. Purcheou and Messrs Hadfield and J. Wilson did their share by giving some excelleut readings aud recitations, aud on the whole a really enjoyable evening was speut, the Nelsou visitors returning to town by the steamer Lady Barkly. The City Cadets coucert and soiree last night passed off most successfully. Judging from the numerous encores the first part of the evening's amusement ; was fully api ' • -
