Turner jfpr perjury in the late case of Meads v. iHarvey aud others, Constables Lsvy arid ■Bradcock )vere despatched on Saturday afCernoon to arrest, them. They were .brought into town 'in the evening, and placed in the lock-up, where they remained until this aiorning, when they were brought before the Hon T. Renwick and H-.--E: Curtis; Esq., J.J.P. On the application of Mr Bunny, a remand was granted until Thursday morning, bail being allowedl each of ihe accused in j£si>, and one surety" pf £50 for each. The case appeared toespitea considerable amount of interest, the Court being crowded. The following sureties were obtained: — For Isaac Harvey Mr M. Levy; for W. Harvey, Mr W. Healy; and for C. K. Turner, Mr j. Thornton. The election of three members of the Suburban North Road Board took place today.. The retiring members were Mesass Slater, Collins, and Wastney.
