THE LATE YACHT RACE.
A gentleman in, Nelson having submitted | to the editor of the Field the dispute which arose out of the yacht trace at the late Interprovincial Regatta, thß following; reply >as received by the last mail:— '.Yacht Racing Association, 104 Palace Gardens Terrace, Kensington, London, W.,, April 25, .1877.— Dear Sir— -I have answered yonr query in the Field. . I have sent six copies of the Y. R. A. sailing rules to the Secretary of the Nelson Club.^ I'thouglit that r they might prove interesting to the yacht clubs at the Antipodes. All ,the Cluba.hetjs, but two new, sail under these ralea, and ii is found a great advantage. ■ Recurring to your two queries, no doubt in law the Gannet would hate a ease against the Committee if they withheld the prize; aa alio would the Secret if a course waa given which rendered it impossible for her to win. Under the circumstances it was best and indeed just that the match should be re-sailed. Wishing you plenty of sport.— l am, &c, Dixon Kemp, Yachting Editor Field." [We regret that we hay« not yet heen ablß to obtain a copy of the Field containing the reply, but it will probably be received by the San Francisco mail.— Ed. N.E.M/J
