The Hawea leaves Onehunga toiday, will arrive to-morrow night, and" sail for the South on Monday morning. The Murray has been detained at Greymouth by the state of the weather. She will sail to-morrow for Nelson direct. The Charles Edward was detained at Westport last night by the weather, but sailed this morning, and will arrive here tomorrow morning. The Lady Barkly arrived from Motueka and Golden Bay this afternoon. • The Arawata arrived at the Bluff rfrom Melbourne this morning. The Prospect arrived from Croixelles this morning, laden with gravel. ' " The cutter Dido arrived from Blenheim this morning, after a protracted passagex She brings a cargo of barley. Capt. Shilling reports sighting the barque Stag, bound for Lyttelton, off Jackson's Head on the 19th instant. > The Albion sailed for Melbourne and South at 5 30 p.m. yesterday, and arrived at Wellington at 8 a.m. to-day. . She leaves there for. Lyttelton to-morrow. Considering the weight of some pieces of the timber - which form the Albion's cargo, satisfactory progress is being made in discharging her. Haul-ashore Island is now strewn with timber. A survey will be held on the brig some time next week, when it will be known what is going to be done with her. The passengers were lauded thi3 morning, and will be forwarded to Melbourne in the Tararua. Our telegrams informed us a day or two ago that some wreckage had been picked up on Charleston beach, supposed to be that af the schooner Elizabeth Conway. We are glad to learn that such is not the case, the Elizabeth Conway now being in Astrolabe -roadstead, repairing damages caused by the late gales. In company with her is the schooner Owake, also repairing damages. Both vessels have been off the Hokitika bar, but were unable to cross it. The masters of the two schooners wished to be reported. The above news was brought by Captain Kirk, -of the schooner Uno, which arrived this morning. As' we anticipated, the vessel in sight yesterday afternoon turned out to be the barque Vindes, from Newcastle. The N.W. wind"; last evening brought her well up the Bay, and at daylight this morning she was well under the land, with all canvas set, standing in for the entrance to the harbor. The pilot boat was soon alongside, but as the tide, had then turned the barque was run down to the ', anchorage ground, where she brought up. The Vindex will be towed into harbor by the Charles Edward to-morrow morning. She brings a cargo of 512 tons of coal consigned to Messrs N. Edwards & Co. Messrs M'Meckan, Blackwood, and Co.'s s.s. Tararua, Captain Sinclair, came into harbor this morning at 730. She left the Sandridge Railway Pier at 2*30 p.m. on the Bth instant, and passed through Port PhitUp Heads at 5*45 p.m. Swan Island was- passed at 4*40 p.m. on the ,9th, and Cape -Pillar rounded at 11 a.m..on the 10th, and'the Tararua made fast alongside Argyle-street. Pier, .Hobarton, at 4-p p.m. same day. Experienced fine weather, to Maria Island, when' a stroug S. W* gale, accompanied with heavy head sea and thick rainy weather, was met. After landing 60 tons of cargo and passengers, she left at I*3o p.in.on the Ilth; experienced moderate winds with fine weather across the Middle Ground, and reached, the. Bluff at 2 a.m. on the 17th; sailed -at '2*3o. p.m. same day, and arrived at Port Chalmeri' on the following morning -~AeU on Mondav afternoon, and fetched Lyttelton on Tuesday; sailed again on Wednesday afternoon, and .arrived at Wellington at 11*15 a.m' on : Thursday; landed 170 tons of cargo, and sailed at 2*30 p.m. yesterday, arriving here as above. Thick dirty weather was experienced to Wellington, thence strong head winds, which very nearly caused the steamer to lose this morning's tide, it being the top of high ( water when she came into harbor.; The Tararua sails for Melbourne via West Coast at 5 p.m.
