A meeting ot the Trustees of the Nelson "Savings- Bank was held last night for the :purpose'.of discussing the draft -of an Acti ;drawn by the Trustees of the Auckland ..Savings Bank and forwarded by . them ' throughout the colony for the consideration of the other Saving-Banks; Af ter considering many of the clauses the meeting adjourneduntil to-morrow evening. ' The anniversary soiree in connection with .the Wesleyan Church will-be held this evening, when in addition to the musical perform- -. ances by the choir, the meeting will be addressed 1»y the Rev. P: Galder, J. Beckenhara, J. Hamilton, and others. A very pleasant evening is anticipated. j At the inquest ou the body of the unf ortuuate young Pilling who met with his death by injuries received at football in Auckland, Dr. Ellis, who conducted the post mortem examination, said:— "X have witnessed the game of football as played in Auckland and England. I certainly consider it to be a I dangerous game. I have attended six cases , of injury from it during the last two years, and I think the rules should be modified, but the game should not be put down." | It is rumored that Mr Stout, M.H.R., j of Dunedin, is about to start a new morning journal in Wellington, the policy of which will be to support the party opposed to the present Government. , Cacse3 for confidence. In these days of humbug and imposture the public are naturally distrustful of assertion unaccompanied by proof. This is particularly the case in regard to advertised remedies many of which are devoid of the slightest merit. ; But a medicinal stimulant, professionally indorsed and used for twenty-fire years as a curative of .debility, nervous disorders, kidney and bladder ailments, dyspepsia, and rheumatism, deserves and receives public confidence.
