We very much regret being called upon to state, and feei sure that a very large number of our readers will equally regret to learn, that Mr A. G. Betts died -very suddenly thia morning. He was one of the oldest of the Nelson settlers, and was well acquainted with many of the pioneers of the province. For some years past he has been aa ardent" and energetic Good Templar, and both by example and precept did all ih his, power to advance the cause he so warmly advocated. He was up to the time of his death in excellent health aud spirits, and last evening attended a Good Templar Lodge meeting. This morning his wife on awaking found him, as she thought, sleeping by her side, but his unusual stillness alarmed her, and on lookihg at him she found he! was dead, though still warm. The cause of death is believed to have been the rupture of a blood vessel Tn the brain'. The funeral, which will be largely attended by the Good Templars, will take place on Monday afternoon.
