L. iT SMITH (The only legally-qualified Medical man advertising), CONSULTS — On all affections of the Nervous System (no matter from what cause arising) ; on all broken-down Constitutions ; on all Diseases arising from early Indiscretions ; on Gout ; on Rheumatism. IN these Colonies, those excesses which we have indulged in " hot youth " telt upon us with fearful interest. Our regrets are useless, our repinings ;fuile. The sole idea should be the dunces we possess of remedying the ills we already hare, or combating tne effects likely *• result. iHide it as he may— put on aa good an exterior as he can— still is the victim conscious that he is a living he, and that sooner or later his vice* will discover him to the world. Our ■b'&ith — our obligations to society at large— ■the welfare of our iuture offspring— and the duty we owe to ourselves— forbids procrssti nation, and points out to ua not to watt till the ravages break ous in our constitutions. Before negotiating with a merchant, before engaging with a confidential clerk; before employing a barrister— a careful m»n makes inquiries as to their standing ; and, in the cage of a legal adviser, both as to his legal qualifications aad as to hid capabilities of transacting the individual business he consults hitn upon. Strange to say, however, in the selection of a medical man, the sufferer frequently omit a tueaa necessary precautions, aud without regard to the fitness, qualification, experience, and ability for the particular Hilment requiring treatment, he consults the ucaiest man, whose experience and practice, perhaps, lies in quite an opposite direction. Is it astonishing that so many are driven mad, are ruined in health, and are bankrupt in spirits, hope, aud money? Have I not, toe years, poiuted out to them that I, Dr. L. L. Smith, am the only legally-qualified medical man advertising in the Colonies f Have I not also prosecuted, at my own expense, these very quacks, and exposed the various nostrums they are selling— such as Phosphodyne, Essence of Life, &c— and had them analysed, and found them to oonsist of '■ Burnt sugar and flavoring matter," and the certificates I have pboved to be all forgeries. It is for this reason that I etepout of the ethics of the profession and advertise, to give those who requrie the services of my branch an opportunity of knowing they can consult a legally qualified man, and one moreover who has made this his especial study! Dr L L. Smith is the only legally qualified medical man advertising, and he has been in Melbourne 24 years in full practice on Nervous Diseases Lois of Power and Debility Syphilitic Affections Want of Condition Gout and Rheumatism. Db. L. L. SMITH can beconsulted by letter —Fee «l. Medicines forwarded to all the colonies. Db. L. L. SMITH, 182 Collins st. East. ;;(Late the Residence of the Governor); : MELBOURNE. SIQ
