The attention of members of the Harmonic Society is directed to an advertisement which appears elsewhere requesting them t be provided with their copies of "The Creation "at this evening's practice. It js intended, we believe that the first part of the next concert shall consist of selections from that Oratorio, and the second be miscellaneous. Richard O'Grady, a seaman on board the Phoebe, was given in charge this afternoon by Captain Kennedy on a charge of repeated disobedience of lawful orders. Richard, owing to frequent libations of beer, was not in a fit state, to appear before the Magistrates to-day, but will be afforded an opportunity to-morrow morning of explaining his conduct to them. Mr. A. W. Scaipe, the agent for the Koranui Coal Mining Company, advertises that the share list will be closed at four p.m. to-morrow. It is the intention of the promoters to take up all shares unapplied for, so that proceedings may commence without dejay, and it is expected that the Company will be in a position to export coal by next January. The Rev J. Beckenham's lecture on the manners and customs of the natives of Australia will be delivered at the Congregational Church this evening The following are the Customs' receipts at the Port of Nelson for the month ending May 31st:— Spirits, £737 19s 2d; cigars, £12; tobacco, £352 14s; wines, £85 Iss 7d; ale and beer, £28 14s 5d ; tea, £210 13s ; coffee, etc., £5 18s 6d; sugar, £361 9s lid; goods by weight, £43 8s 9d ; ad valorem, £5 '3 16s 4dother uutie?, £17 12s. Total duties, £2360 Is Bd. Other receipts, £194 I4 S 2d. Total receipts, £2554 15 lOd. The yacht Minnebaha was sold at Wellington the other day for £21. On Saturday night two stacks of hay belonging to Mr Cullen, at Mahakipawa, were burnt by an incendiary.

Hostilities will therefore cease (by cable) during the pleasure of the Agency.
