L, IT SMITH (The only legally-qualiSed Medical mai advertising), CONSULTS — On all affections of the Nervous System (n< matter from whit cause arising) ; on al broken-down Constitutions ; on all Disease! arising from early Indiscretions ; on Gout on Rheumatism. IN these Colonies, those excesses which wi have indulged iv " hot youth " tell upoi ua with, fearful interest. Our regrets aye useless, our repiniugf futile. The bolo idea should be the chuncet we possess of remedying the ills we alresdj have, or combatiog tue effects likely to result Hide it as he may — put on as good an exterior as he can — still is the viutim conscious that he is a living lie, and that sooner or Ja'.ei his vices will discover him to the world, dvi Faith — our obligations to society at large— the welfare of our tuture offspring— and the duty we owe to ourselves — forbida procrasti nation, and points out to us not to wait till the ravages break oui iv our constitutions. Before negotiating with a merchant, before engaging with a confidential clerk; before employing a barrister— a careful mim makes inquiries as to their standing ; and, in the case of a legal adviser, both as to his legal qualifications and as to his capabilities ol transacting the individual business he consults him upoa. Strange to say, however, in the selection of a medical man, the sufferer frequently omits thess necessary precautions, aud without regard to the fitness, qualification, experience, and ability for the particular Hilment requiring treatment, he consults the uearest man, whose experience and practice, perhaps, lies ia quite an. opposite direction. Is it astonishing that so many aje driven mad, are ruined in health, and are bankrupt in spirits, hope, and money? Have I not, for years, pomte.l out to them that L, Dr. L. L. Smith, am the only legally-qualified medical nlau advertising in the Colonies ? Have I not also prosticuted, at my own expense, these very quacks, and exposed the various nostrums they are selling— such as Phosphodyne, Essence of Life, &c— and had them analysed, and found them tooonsistot ''Burnt sugar and flavoring matter," and the certificates I have ritovJED to be all forgeries. It is tor this reason that I etep out of the eihics of the profession and advertise, to give those who requrie the services of my branch an opportunity of knowing they can consult a legally qualified man, and one moreover who lias made this his especial study. Dr L L. Smith is the only legally qualified medical man advertising, and he has been in Melbourne 24 years in full practice on Nervous Diseases Loss of L'owvr and Debility Syphilitic Affections Want of Cunikiim Gout and Rheumatism. Db. L. L. SMITH can beconsulitd bj letter — Fee £l. Medicines forwarded to ai. the colonies. Db. L. L. SMLTH, 182 Collina st. Hast. JK^fca tte Residence of the Governor), HELBOUBHE. 2l 0
